Novel composite membrane based on recycled low-density polyethylene-alumina used for vacuum membrane distillation

Abstract Background Plastic materials have a significant impact on the entire environment. Very relevant ideas in different areas with aim of enhancing these and making them effective our daily lives. In this context, work article by using plastic manufacture hydrophobic membranes realized Laboratory LEEP Enig Gabes Tunisia, followed various analyses. These are made Recycled Low-Density Polyethylene polymer means Thermal Induced Phase Separation (TIPS) method solvents such as Butyl Acetate, non-solvent Hexane addition Alumina at concentrations to increase porosity. Results Hydrophobic coupled vacuum still test their performance. An analytical study FTIR was done. Contact angle, pore size, porosity, mechanical test, bubble point pressure, AFM SEM analysis. The results revealed that alumina had an important role improving structure, properties therefore performance membrane. Conclusions membrane already prepared admits according analyzes tested good hydrophobicity.
